This is just a flavour of the projects and people I’ve had the pleasure working with.
The Northern Music Awards:
creating a national music awards with purpose at its heart.
The opportunity.
Nordoff & Robbins wanted to create its first public-facing supporter event in over a decade. It needed to raise awareness of music therapy, engage the music industry and become a sustainable source of income, not just another awards ceremony.
The approach.
I conceived and delivered the Northern Music Awards from the ground up, bringing together Greater Manchester's Music Commission, industry leaders, sponsors and partners. I secured long-term partnerships with Ticketmaster, Live Nation and Clear Channel, embedding the event within the UK's music industry while giving music therapy a national platform.
The impact.
The awards established a new flagship event for the charity, reaching 2.17 million viewers through BBC One Show coverage, delivering the charity's first national Out of Home campaign and creating a sustainable commercial model through multi-year sponsorships.
Les Dames d’Escoffier: modernising a heritage culinary organisation for its next chapter
The opportunity.
The organisation's website no longer reflected the calibre of its members or supported its ambitions for growth, engagement and recruitment.
The approach.
I migrated the website from WordPress to Squarespace, refined the visual identity and tone of voice, improved the user experience and created a searchable membership directory that better showcased the community.
The impact.
The new website provides a modern, intuitive experience for prospective and existing members, strengthening the organisation's digital presence while making it easier to connect with and celebrate its membership.
Nordoff & Robbins rebrand: repositioning the UK’s largest music therapy charity.
The opportunity.
As the charity grew, its brand no longer reflected the scale of its ambition. It needed to engage new audiences, strengthen its relationship with the music industry and support ambitious fundraising targets without losing the trust it had built over decades.
The approach.
I led the strategic repositioning of the organisation, refining its identity, introducing a new brand platform, Break through with music, and creating a more honest, human tone of voice. I also oversaw the subtle but significant evolution from Nordoff Robbins to Nordoff & Robbins.
The impact.
The rebrand helped contribute to a 51% increase in income over two years, alongside measurable improvements in brand awareness, logo recognition and public trust, creating a platform for the charity's next phase of growth.
Borough Market , pivoting London’s iconic food destination in a time of crisis.
The opportunity
When Covid fundamentally changed how people could shop, eat and experience Borough Market, the challenge was to keep one of London’s most iconic food destinations relevant, accessible and connected to its community, while supporting traders through an incredibly difficult trading period.
The approach
As Deputy Director of Marketing and Communications, I worked across brand, digital, content, communications and commercial activity to help the Market adapt.
I developed the B2B go-to-market strategy for a new online delivery service, helped lead a brand and website refresh, and created new ways for audiences to experience Borough Market beyond the physical space.
That included content-led initiatives such as the Borough Talks podcast and Festive Kitchen, a live-streamed food festival designed to bring the energy and expertise of the Market into people's homes.
Alongside this, I led crisis communications, acted as a media spokesperson and managed a £1m marketing budget across digital, paid and PR activity
The impact
The new delivery service expanded across the M25 and increased revenue by 25% within weeks, while website optimisation increased conversion by 20%.
But the wider impact was about helping Borough Market continue to show up for its audiences and traders at a time when the traditional Market experience simply wasn't possible, finding new ways to connect people with its food, stories and community
